WFP, formed in 2005, is a 2800 acre cash grain production located in Mount Morris, Illinois. We produce both Corn & Soybeans, planted with a DB60 36 row planter equipped with all the latest products from Precision Planting to help maximize crop yields.
Our Operation:
At Witmer Farms, our goal is to be one of the most respected, efficient and progressive farming operations in Ogle County and surrounding areas. We will always work hard to be the best stewards of the land and keep our properties maintained and looking their best. We want to generate the best possible return on investment for both landowners and ourselves. We have always strived to adapt to the newest technology available and will continue to do so to keep our operation running as efficiently as possible. Lastly, we are firm believers that learning never stops and we will continue to learn and grow from our previous years!
Experience – While the partnership has only been around for the last 10 years, Greg has been farming his whole life. Between Greg & Chuck they bring over 50 years of experience to Witmer Farms Partnership and the land they farm. We also work with a certified Crop Advisor to ensure that our crop production is it’s absolute best.
Relationship with Landowners – One of the most important aspects of our business is the relationships we have with our landowners. Without them, Witmer Farms Partnership would cease to exist. They are the core of who we are and we realize that regular communication is essential to having a positive relationship. We have worked with many of them for over 30 years and we value both the personal and professional relationships that have developed throughout the years.
Technology – We realize that now more than ever, technology is a vital part of the farming operation. Currently we utilize several systems like seed & yield monitoring, guidance systems and in-field soil testing. We are always keeping our eyes open looking for the newest advances and working to incorporate those into our operation.
Stewardship –At Witmer Farms Partnership, we practice minimum tillage. We feel that this is one of the best ways to keep the land productive for not only us, but for future generations.
